At least seven out of 10 internet users are online buyers in Greece, a sign of that e-commerce has established itself among consumers' habits, a survey by the Federation of Enterprises and Retail Sales of Greece said on Wednesday.
The survey showed that e-commerce has matured since the pandemic era, with 45% of internet users having made an online purchase in the last 15 days, a level unchanged from that of November 2022 but up from 39% in June 2022. The Greek figures still lag behind the levels of mature markets in Western and Northern Europe, where 9 out of 10 consumers make online purchases.
The survey said that 2023 will be another record year for e-commerce as at least 20,000 Greek enterprises have an organised channel of digital sales, while several e-shops have online annual sales of more than 10 million euros.
